Dealing with Stress and Trauma
In partnership with Sesame Street in Communities, the First 5 Association of California developed the Care, Cope, and Connect Guide that offers tips for parent for caring for themselves and their children during tough times. It includes information on ways for families to cope with difficult times together, and guidelines on talking with children and helping everyone stay connected to their families and communities. The guide, which is available in multiple languages, helps families discuss and manage the complicated issues affecting the lives of many people in California. These include family separation, trauma, and other community-based anxieties, such as new immigration policy changes.
