“I spy with my little eye…” a happy preschooler!
You and your preschooler
Ask your preschooler if they want to play a guessing game with you.
Start by saying “I spy with my little eye, something…” and pick one to two characteristics (color, shape, texture, etc.) to describe one specific thing around you.
Have your preschooler ask questions to guess what you “spied.” For example, your preschooler can ask, “Is it…?”
If your preschooler has a hard time guessing, you can help them by giving more clues of characteristics or where it is exactly in the space around you.
Once your preschooler guesses the right answer, praise him! Take time to talk about what it is and play with it.
Let your preschooler take a turn by saying, “I spy with my little eye, something…” and picking a characteristic too.
Repeat the game by taking turns.
This is a great game to play in the car to keep your preschooler happy and engaged!
This activity helps your child develop motor, language, play, social-emotional, and cognitive skills.
