We work to help California’s children receive the best possible start in life.
First 5 California will convene, partner in, and help lead the movement to create and implement a comprehensive, integrated, and coordinated system for California’s children prenatal through age 5 and their families. It will promote, support, and optimize early childhood development.
Nutrition
We help parents make nutritious choices that give children a healthy start to life.
Early Literacy and Language Development
A child’s ability to communicate starts at birth, so we invest in families - children’s first and most important teachers.
Smoking Cessation
Our resources offer free counseling and referral services to help parents and caregivers quit smoking.
